Frequently Asked Questions

How can I join?

Membership is based on three criteria. Eligible freshmen can expect an offer of membership after the end of the academic semester and will be inducted the following semester.

When does Phi Eta Sigma meet?

There is typically a General Board Meeting two times a month. Various philanthropy, social, and academic events will also occur throughout the year.

Why should I get involved?

Upon induction into Phi Eta Sigma, you will be welcomed into a community of high-achieving students around the nation who have a similar commitment to academics. Monetary scholarships are also offered through the national Phi Eta Sigma organization.

What makes an eligible candidate?

The three criteria include a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 at the end of any full-time curricular period; a normal academic load acceptable towards a bachelor's degree; and a class rank in the top twenty percent.

Who is eligible for the scholarships?

Please visit the national Phi Eta Sigma website for more information on scholarship criteria and how you can apply.

What happens if my GPA drops below 3.5?

You are a member for life upon induction, so your grade point average will not affect your status in Phi Eta Sigma after being inducted.
